About the event

Why is Sleep Important?

Sleep is a cornerstone of overall health and well-being, playing a critical role in both physical and mental functioning. Adequate sleep not only supports cognitive processes and logical, appropriate daytime behavior but also underpins a host of vital physiological functions.

Research highlights that good sleep in middle age serves as a powerful form of preventive medicine, promoting healthy aging and reducing the risk of chronic illnesses. This talk will provide a concise yet comprehensive introduction to the architecture of sleep, its multifaceted functions, and the far-reaching consequences of poor sleep. Attendees will gain insights into how sleep impacts health and how it can be optimized within the framework of lifestyle medicine.
